Description
AP® Human Geography is a rigorous, college-level course that explores the patterns and processes shaping human culture, understanding, use, and alteration of the Earth. Students investigate key concepts including population and migration, cultural patterns, political organization of space, agricultural and rural land use, industrialization and economic development, and cities and urban land use. The course encourages students to think spatially and apply geographic tools and models to analyze human activities and their environmental impacts. Through engaging lessons, case studies, data analysis, and map interpretation, students will develop critical thinking and inquiry skills to examine real-world scenarios and deepen their understanding of the complex relationships between people, places, and the environment.
Please note: This course has been authorized by College Board for the AP® course designation on high school transcripts. Students will receive a course authorization letter along with their final course grade. Students will need to register separately with a local school that administers AP® exams for potential future college credit.
