AP® World History: Modern is a college-level course that explores significant events, interactions, and developments from c. 1200 to the present. Students examine six key themes, including humans and the environment, cultural developments and interactions, governance, economic systems, social interactions and organization, and technology and innovation. The course encourages students to think historically and develop skills in analyzing primary and secondary sources, making comparisons, and constructing evidence-based arguments. Through engaging lessons, case studies, and interactive activities, students build their ability to connect historical developments across regions and time periods. The course includes performance tasks and assessments in a feedback-rich environment that supports students’ growth as analytical, thoughtful historians.
Please note: This course has been authorized by College Board for the AP® course designation on high school transcripts. Students will receive a course authorization letter along with their final course grade. Students will need to register separately with a local school that administers AP® exams for potential future college credit.
