Description
AP® U.S. History is a college-level course that explores the development of the United States from pre-Columbian societies through the present. Students examine major themes, including American and national identity, politics and power, work and exchange, culture and society, migration and settlement, geography and the environment, and America’s role in the world. The course challenges students to think like historians—analyzing primary and secondary sources, making comparisons, and constructing evidence-based arguments. Through engaging lessons, case studies, and interactive activities, students build their ability to connect events across time and understand the forces that have shaped the nation. The course includes performance tasks and a variety of assessments in a feedback-rich environment that supports students’ growth as informed, analytical thinkers of American history.
Please note: This course has been authorized by College Board for the AP® course designation on high school transcripts. Students will receive a course authorization letter along with their final course grade. Students will need to register separately with a local school that administers AP® exams for potential future college credit.
